Dave Asprey the Bulletproof Exec

So some time ago I was attacked in posts. Then last week I had one of my comments (in a thread where someone was ripping apart a blogger that had a poor view on bulletproof coffee making a list of observations like 'find current popular thing, write blog post about thing, make money off ad revenue' to which I replied something like 'claim normal coffee is full of poison, sell magical mycotoxin free cofee beans, make money selling magical mycotoxin free coffee beans' and the using the report abuse freature fan boys began clicking it causing me to be unable to post. I sent an email via the contact form and within an hour or so my viewing and posting priveledges were reinstated.

Yesterday morning someone commented in a year old thread where someone had posted about how they were unhappy with certain changes on the forum, a few more posts occured from fanboys in this thread, the thread was quickly closed by moderators "sorry I dropped the ball on this one". I had comments in this thread mentioning Dave Asprey's elitist attitude always rubbing it in peoples face that he earns a lot of money, his wife earns lots of money, he charges CEO clients lots of money to go on retreats with him etc and then turns around and sells expensive products most people can't afford. I mentioned I thought it would be better if he kept in mind the vast majority of people couldn't afford such things. NOTE that reply of mine was posted when the thread was a day or two old, A YEAR AGO. About a half hour after a moderator closed the thread I couldn't view anything agian like last week, so I again created a ticket. Didn't hear a word for about 30 hours, then this email comes in...

So, I disagree with one of "Almighty god Dave Asprey" a YEAR ago and get banned yesterday. Seriously dude, get over yourself. You aren't always right, people are allowed to disagree with you. I was quite polite and proper in my reply, the reply was also a year ago. Oh, and did I mention one of your moderators called me a 'retard' and 'whiny' when I was personally attacked on the forum by multiple members earlier this year? Really man, get some help or if you really have no clue what's going on via your own forum... look into it.

Bulletproof Diet and Mental Clarity

I've been doing the Bulletproof Diet for 5 days now. I have not had my normal 'brain crash' or 'brain fog' creep in around 2pm each day, which has been the norm for the vast majority of days of my life (despite even things like nootropics). I contribute this entirely to the MCT oil, a tbsp in the morning and a tbsp an hour or two before bed. Time perception has been sped up too, both at work and home... again I contribute this entirely to the MCT oil. Oh, and if any of my readers have 1500$ to spare and want to be generous, buy me a Vibe Whole Body Vibration Plate!

I failed to mention my start weight in my first post. So, my PRE-BP START WEIGHT WAS 262.8 LBS. I'll update randomly as I continue to post updates.

Sustainability of the bullet proof diet (grass fed beef) for the Earth's population.

So on the bulletproof executive forums, someone had mentioned something about the sustainability of grain-fed animals for food. Well, I decided to do some math on the viability of just the beef portion of the Bulletproof Diet. (12/16/2016 note - Let me note, while I keep mentioning the Bulletproof Diet, this post is just about the sustainability of grass-fed beef, when I originally wrote this in 2013 I was on a BP Diet kick.)

The Earth only has 7.68 billion acres of arable land, something like 1.4bn of this is forest, so we are going to exclude them. So 5.48bn acres. Wiki lists the largest 153 cities listed by area in the U.S. using whole numbers only that's 89,874 square miles or 57,519,360 acres so let's multiply this by 1.5 to account for interstates and smaller cities/towns/etc. and then by 5 for the 5 inhabited continents, that leaves us with 5.04 billion acres.

grass fed beef

In the United States, a single cow during warm seasons needs anywhere from 2-25 acres of arable land (actually, in parts of the world this number could be higher, but lets make this easy) to feed on (depending on the region, most of central Indiana 2 acres is suitable, say in the Dakotas 25 acres of unimproved prairie is needed).

Let's average this, 13.5 acres per cow, let us be extra generous and slash that in half, 6.75 acres, now let us be generous again and assume only 3.25 acres more used only for saving grass for the cold season — 10 acres per cow per year.

It takes about 2 years for a cow to reach slaughter weight. The average grass-fed cow will yield about 530lbs of meat. Assume 1lb consumed per day per human.

The Earth had a population of 6.974 in 2011. That's 6.974 billion pounds of meat a day for the BP diet.

You need 5.091 TRILLION pounds of beef every 2 years for the world to eat BP diet at 1lb a day per person. With the Earth at 5.04bn acres arable for us to use, you can feed 252 million cattle to slaughter weight. Every 2 years, you can produce 133.56 billion pounds of beef, assuming no deaths.

Ought oh!!! Bulletproof Diet isn't sustainable either! Even if you drop it to 1/4lb per day per human, that's 1.27275 TRILLION pounds of beef needed every 2 years while you can produce 133.56 billion pounds... that's still nearly 10x what you can provide.

Today I start eating bulletproof

Today I start eating the bulletproof diet. I already prefer to eat paleo and have known of the BP diet for some time. Well decide to start June off by switching 100% to it. I've been getting everything ready leading up to today, after getting paid last night I raided Trader Joe's this morning and cleaned them out of their grass fed beef walking away with 10lbs and replinished my stocks of kerrygold grass-fed butter.
