Obama, Congress and minimum wage

Well Obama just raised federal contractor salary and Congress has a bill to raise minimum wage period to 10.10, if that happens I'll go from making double minimum wage to making 1.4x minimum wage in a skilled job, effectively neutering my income and requiring me to get a second job to keep the same purchasing power.

When you raise the minimum wage, you don't help anyone, you only screw people that make more than minimum wage. Raise minimum wage and the cost of EVERYTHING goes up. Want to give people more money? Lower taxes.

It has taken me over seven and a half years to get my salary from around 11$ an hour to a little over 14$ an hour, when I started minimum wage was less than 6$, now they want it to be 10.10... I have busted my butt in a job for seven and a half years and now they want every underachiever that says "do you want fries with that" to make almost as much as me. Insanity, this will just generate more tax revenue and drive the cost of goods up (which will also drive sales tax revenue up). Who wins if this minimum wage increase goes through? Oh that's right, the government.

I agree

I agree with this message from Senator Dan Coats, so here it is...

Supreme Court Ruling on the Health Care Law

On Thursday, the Supreme Court issued a historic decision that will impact every Hoosier. The Court decided to uphold President Obama’s health care law, which greatly expands the size and scope of the federal government.

I am very disappointed with the ruling, and I continue to believe this unaffordable and unpopular health care law is a massive intrusion of the federal government into the lives of Americans.

Although the Court ruled the health care law is constitutional, it does not mean it is good policy.
Obamacare has made the nation’s health care system worse, not better.

Hoosier families and businesses will be faced with higher taxes, increased costs and burdensome mandates under this law.

The work to reform our health care system is far from over. I am committed to working with my colleagues to repeal the President’s health care law and give Hoosiers – not Washington – the power to make their own health care decisions.

The American people will have the opportunity to decide if they want a Congress and White House committed to more taxing, more spending and more federal mandates or one that will work to reduce spending, empower individuals and give states greater flexibility.

A Call to Repeal Obamacare
Following the Supreme Court’s decision to uphold President Obama’s health care law, I spoke on the Senate floor pledging to continue my effort to repeal the unpopular law. Americans deserve a health care system that gives them the care they need, from a doctor they choose at a more affordable cost.

Decision Goes in the Hands of the American People

Hank Williams Jr.

Oh crap, so since I posted this image... is ESPN and the NFL going to stop doing business with me? Well crap, what ever will I do now? Hank Williams Jr., if you need a job you can come to work for me... I just can't pay you what those tools did. I love how they went carzy when you said that but Obama gets away with saying "If asking a billionaire to pay the same rate as a Jew, uh, as a janitor, makes me a warrior for the working class, I wear that with a badge of honor." and no one even blinks... /fail.
