I mean really? This is just idiotic and absurd, don't they have better things to punish kids for? I could see if it was just the school, if they had problems with vandalism or something... but they took the kid to a juvenile detention center OVER A DAMN MARKER!!!
"A 13-year-old boy was arrested Friday for using a permanent marker while in class at his Oklahoma City middle school, a violation of an obscure city ordinance.
According to an Oklahoma City Police Department report, the boy was spotted “in possession of a permanent marker” by Roosevelt Middle School teacher DeLynn Woodside. The 50-year-old educator told cop Miguel Campos that the student was “writing on a piece of paper, which caused it to bleed over onto the desk.”
Woodside, pictured at right, reported that the child, whose name was redacted by police from the report, attempted to hide the marker when she asked him for it. Strangely, Woodside’s Facebook page reveals that her “likes and interests” include the official “Sharpie Permanent Markers” page on Facebook." See the rest HERE
Wonder where you're at on Santa's naughty or nice list? It doesn't matter to us because being naughty is nice.
All I have to say is... awesome, the most brilliant part being not the markings, but "Torres says it didn't impact Southwest's air traffic at Love Field. He also noted the plane will no longer be able to make the Kessel Run this weekend" hahaha brilliant.

"A Friend of Unfair Park forwards some raw, silent footage from KXAS-Channel 5 of an experimental plane that landed the hard way at Love Field earlier this afternoon. The video follows, and given the markings, odds are the pilot was shot down by Darth Vader -- that, or "the landing gear collapsed," explains Jose Torres, spokesman for the city's Aviation Administration." Loneliness is about the scariest thing there is.
Blah. Tell someone you still love then and always will... and the only thing the say back... "Ur a big dork". *sigh*
This is a serious threat to our right to free speach. If this happens, how long before we are like Iran or China?
"Tomorrow morning the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) will mark the winter solstice by taking an unprecedented step to expand government's reach into the Internet by attempting to regulate its inner workings. In doing so, the agency will circumvent Congress and disregard a recent court ruling.
How did the FCC get here?
For years, proponents of so-called "net neutrality" have been calling for strong regulation of broadband "on-ramps" to the Internet, like those provided by your local cable or phone companies. Rules are needed, the argument goes, to ensure that the Internet remains open and free, and to discourage broadband providers from thwarting consumer demand. That sounds good if you say it fast. Ok this bothers me becuase this 'war on drugs' crap is just that... crap. The government can't end drug trafficking and use, when we are protecting the opium fields in Afghanistan, when we are arming, financing, and selling drugs in Central and South America, and the simple fact that people want to escape and are going to find a way to get and do drugs. Period.
"When a young mother is killed trying to protect her 2-year-old son from stray bullets, then it is easy to understand why some of us are calling for the National Guard to help curb the violence.
So far, police haven’t said what motivated two armed men to storm into a barbershop in Sacramento, CA with guns blazing. The gunmen injured six people and killed Monique Nelson, as she tried to strap her son into a car seat and escape the violence.
But I’m willing to bet that drugs or gangs or both were involved.
This is the kind of tragedy that makes James Gierach’s blood boil. For decades, Gierach has been on a crusade to end the nation’s failed drug war. " see the rest HERE
