A student was shot and killed at Ball State tonight by campus police... there was a break in call made... and something about the call was botched and a student was shot and killed...more at 10 on the news... but I gotta get to bed I have to leave for work in 7 hours....

A Ball State University police officer shot and killed a student while investigating a possible burglary in an off-campus neighborhood. The dead student is Michael S. McKinney, 21, a junior from Bedford who was majoring in marketing, school officials said. The circumstances of the shooting were not immediately available. Muncie police are investigating and have declined to comment.
