What is real? Is it a physical existance, a mental admission, neither, both? Perhaps what is real is a perception, and what seperates "mentally stable" individuals from "mentally unstable" individuals is the collective perceptions of reality? If reality is a perception, then the fact of reality does not matter to the life of the individual because all one has to do to adapt is to percieve a new reality. If reality is not simply a perception, reality does matter to the life of the individual because acknowledgement of reality would be required to continue actively living. I believe that a mixture of both explanations exists. That a person can change the reality of existance with a difference in perception, but that perception of reality is not necessary to exist. If a hawk flies overhead and you do not look up, is the hawk there or not? Likewise, if the hawk does not look down, are you there or not?
