The PIP-Boy is based around an HTC Desire HD mobile phone, which [MyMagicPudding] mounted inside case custom made for him by [Skruffy] from the Replica Prop Forum. He wanted to stay true to the game, so the wrist-mounted computer’s interface eschew’s the Desire’s touch screen and is instead controlled via a set of buttons and dials on its face. The external inputs all interface with the Desire via an Arduino Uno, which communicates with the phone using TCP over USB.

Who doesn't like the taste of Schweddy Balls? Ben & Jerry to make a Schweddy Balls ice cream inspired by Alec Baldwin's infamous Schweddy Balls skit on SNL. According to NPR, Schweddy Balls are made of "vanilla ice cream with a hint of rum and is loaded with fudge covered rum balls and milk chocolate malt balls."

Transcend says USB stick capable of 2 TB storage
http://www.physorg.com/news/2011-09-transcend-usb-capable-tb-storage.html
I paid almost 80$ for my first usb drive, at a whopping 32mb... interestingly enough I still use it as I've got stuff saved on there from way back when that I always copy to new HDD's when I get them.
Amazon’s Kindle Tablet
http://techcrunch.com/2011/09/02/amazon-kindle-tablet/
I love my kindle, I waited until last year to make the jump to an e-reader, as I just didn't feel the e-ink was ready yet but I've read a about 50 books now on my kindle this past year, absolutely love it... however this new one from amazon I don't think will be worth getting as there is absolutely no e-ink in the device and that's what I like about the kindle.
Apple loses another iPhone prototype in a bar
http://news.cnet.com/8301-13579_3-20099899-37/apple-loses-another-unreleased-iphone-exclusive/
So here they go again, is it really losing a prototype or instructing an employee to go misplace one to get a bunch of free media buzz about the device? Also, turns out Apple security may have been posing as police and gone to a non-employees house attempting to recover the phone and intimidate who they suspect has it. http://blogs.sfweekly.com/thesnitch/2011/09/lost_iphone_5_apple.php
Space-junk. Solutions sought for growing space junk problem
http://www.usatoday.com/tech/science/space/story/2011-08-31/Solutions-sought-for-growing-space-junk-problem/50207662/1
Proposed ways to deal with the junk include a billion dollar radar array, a probe that would spray space junk with foam, and an Italian robotic craft to grab the big pieces and throw them out of orbit. There are roughly 22,000 objects bigger than 4 inches (some as big as car-sized rocket boosters weighing 9 tons), and perhaps 500,000 smaller ones, down to 0.4 inches across, in orbit... and of course all the junk the aliens leave up there too. However there is a silver lining to this cloud of junk... if it poses a risk to our space craft, it poses a risk to an invading armada of alien ships too... assuming they don't have force-fields.
